After full filling our family obligations we Left Blue Water Marina today bound for the reef and all points in between. The weather was outstanding with the promise of low winds, not good for sailing, and glass outs over the next week or so.
9th Sept
After a week of outstanding weather and north to east breezes we arrived at Lizard Island late in the day. Our intention was to enter the Blue lagoon but as it was late in the day we went to Watsons Bay and endured the NW winds until the next morning when we moved into the Lagoon.
The Blue Lagoon on the SE side of Lizard is a place that is not often accessible or can be endured for long periods unless the winds come from the NW to NE in which case it is outstanding and in our case we managed four glorious days.

Its Halloween and there is a party at the Marlin Bar with cruising friends. 
It is fancy dress and guess what I went as .... yep a pirate.
Saundra was a gypsy and looked beautiful. A great night was had by all and it included a very tasty Chicken BBQ pizza - Yum.
There were many great costumes and all present had a great time as you can see in the pic at left.

Melbourne Cup Day 2011 and yes you guessed it on Lizard Is this day is no different from the rest of the country. 
There was a luncheon with a fashion parade, a sweep and a pot luck lunch. A pot luck meal is one where every one present prepares a meal for the group. The dishes are on the table then you get to have a helping of all sorts of different things - not good for the diet but doesn't happen too often.
