SICYC

What is the SICYC you may ask?

Shaggers on Shag IsletBesides being a heap of fun, the concept is to create a network of cruising yachties and people who enjoy the water(Vice Commodores). Each “Vice commodore” representing different locations. Saundra is Vice Commodore of Key Largo and I am Vice Commodore of Middle Percy Island Lagoon.

The rules are that there are no rules and every one is on equal footing that is we are known as "Vice Commodores"

In fact everybody in SICYC is a Vice Commodore with no Commodore or plain members.Shaggers having a boat party

The aim is to continue to develop a social network of “Vice Commodores” who are willing and able to provide local advice and assistance to other Vice Commodores passing by.

And no doubt a sun downer or two.

Your social commitments are your most demanding responsibility.

Shag islet

Shag IsletShag Islet is a small Islet between Gloucester Island and the mainland in North Queensland (20 03.8 S 148 26.5 E).

Basically there is nothing on the islet other than Shags, and it can be accessed only at low tide when a small beach is exposed on the southern end. SICYC sounds rather impressive.

Around August of each year there is an occurrence of what the locals call a "migration phenomenon" consisting of many cruising boats and hundreds of cruisers who migrate to Shag Islet to celebrate the formation of the club and to meet new and old shaggers alike.
